When Your Pets Awaken with You
One of the most interesting things about being more conscious of health and energy is noticing how it affects your animals. They begin to reject low-quality food, refusing to eat the processed kibble you used to give them. You already know it is not good for them, and now, so do they. You may still buy it for convenience, for those moments when life gets busy, but deep down, you recognize they deserve more.
With a high-quality diet, they flourish. Their intelligence sharpens, their instincts strengthen, and their personalities shine in ways you had not fully seen before. However, this heightened awareness also means training becomes more important than ever. If you are not intentional in teaching them boundaries, they will set their own. A well-fed, thriving animal is a joy to witness—until they decide to hunt a neighbor’s chicken or cat. In those moments, you can only hope it goes unnoticed. But when it does become an issue, you realize it was never their fault. It was yours—you forgot to train them, to establish that food should only be taken from their designated space, under your command.
The Connection Between Diet and Consciousness
Observing these changes in animals makes you think—if a nutrient-rich diet has such a profound effect on them, what does it do for us? Of course, you already know because you are on that journey yourself. But at times, this awareness can feel isolating. Walking among people who seem disconnected, lost in routine and artificial food, can make it feel as if there are more awakened animals in the world than humans. Yet, you also realize that the few truly present people around you are enough. A deep connection with even a handful of like-minded souls is more meaningful than superficial interactions with many.
The Predator Instinct and Its Lessons
Then, there is the cat. Once switched to a whole-food diet, she became an unstoppable hunter—a true force of nature. Every day, one to three rats appear on the porch, trophies of her skill. Cleaning up after her relentless pursuit of prey becomes exhausting, yet witnessing her thrive in her natural state is worth it. She has stepped into her full power, and there is a certain beauty in that.
Maintaining Balance and Health
Every two months, I give them their anti-parasitic treatments, ensuring they remain in peak health. They are thriving, and in turn, so am I. Awareness brings responsibility, not just for oneself but for those we care for. When we nourish our bodies and minds, we invite vitality and intelligence into our lives. And when we extend that care to our animals, they too, awaken to their fullest potential.
